Truth Be Told

Elon Musk promises to turn Twitter into the most truthful online platform. Ponder the gravitas of that goal for a moment, as humanity, in the words of Nobel Prize physicist Richard Feynman, has been promoting nonsense for the last two-thousand years.

Humanity’s track record in pursuing truth is steeped in the short-sighted solipsism of untruth. For thousands of years, we conjured up fables to get the upper hand over people unable to read or think for themselves. Religions, making extraordinary claims lacking extraordinary evidence, are responsible for enslaving people to one of 420 celestial dictators today.

The untruth humanity waddles in does not end with theologies. New prevalent religions of finance, for example, now attempt to elevate finance from the ashes of soiling greed by selling a vector of sustainability fundamentally incompatible with the vector of renewal required to adapt to nature’s entropy. Again we sell ourselves extraordinary claims, ignorant of nature’s truth.

The self-fulfilling prophecy of selling the untruth of short continues by denying nature’s first-principles to which humanity will be subjugated forever. Albert Einstein’s theory of general relativity, adding a new dimension to nature’s truth, was discovered and proven one-hundred years ago but has failed to make its way into how humanity manages itself. Without a theory for humanity, we continue to sell ourselves mind-numbing absolutisms of truth where relativity is required.

As you can glean from reading my popular article “Learn To Think,” truth is relative to purview. No technology algorithm, open-sourced or not, designed to deploy a monism of absolutism can accurately trace the dynamically expanding truth of nature. Hence, Elon Musk’s attempt to pursue truth with Twitter will be as flawed as any absolutism of truth declared previously.

Furthermore, the basic premise of the Twitter platform is wrong. The populism of human wants is incompatible with human needs defined by nature. Human merit must be checked against our best understanding of nature’s truth for it to carry any meaningful value for others to learn from and expand their proximal development.

Elon Musk is a brilliant human being whom I respect immensely. But it will not be the first time misguided intelligence is used to coral innocent people into make-believe. The kind that teaches unproven string theory at a renowned university for $60K annually. Pursuing truth without correlation to nature’s truth is another barking-dog syndrome best ignored altogether.

Technology uncorrelated to nature’s first-principles is poison, the unprotected backdoor to nation-state sovereignty, and a covert accelerant to an anthropogenic cascade. Elon Musk’s truth is not the truth, the whole truth, or anything but the truth. Nature’s truth, not manmade truth, is the truth we should all learn from and pay close attention to.
