A.I. Is Dangerous Navel-Gazing

I commented on an announcement from another Artificial Intelligence company rearing its ugly head proclaiming to change the world in the wake of ChatGPT.

The bigger question is how technology improves human adaptability to nature’s entropy. For technology that does not is a net-negative to humanity. We do not live in a fantasy world, unless you declare everything in life to be a fantasy. Conveniently, then you have free reign to pursuade many a greater-fool.

We cannot rely on the regurgitation of hindsight, upon which all AI systems are built, to break the norm of unprecedented foresight to improve humanity

The fundamental flaw in human thinking revolves around our unrelenting solipsism. We, humans, do not dictate our own survival. Nature does. We must adhere to nature’s principles to build theories and systems of technology that help us discover how to best play the game nature has already laid out for us. Navel-gazing, no matter how fascinating a study of self, will not get us there.

The sign of an intelligent nation is its willingness and ability to reinvent itself, upstream. Let’s inspire the world with new rigors of excellence we first and successfully apply to ourselves.
