In my early days as a systems manager turned computer programmer, I wrote a recursive C++ application to simplify my work, with a function calling on itself. It was about nine lines of code, yet highly effective. It might still be in use today.
For the first time and thoroughly, I realized how to write as little code as possible to achieve infinitely expanding capabilities. I also learned for the first time, in the words of Albert Einstein, that the theory determines what can be discovered. And robustness of a system can only be achieved by the precise definition of a theory first. Conversely, when the theory is improperly defined, the compounding errors in the application make it unusable quickly.
Thirty years later, I find myself confronted with grave and widespread depravity of reason stemming from a human theory left undefined. Similar to when I detected programming errors in my C++ application stemming from a faulty theory, the omission of a human theory makes the application of human capacity spin out of control. Today, humanity attaches itself to foregone conclusions consistently disproven by nature, causing excessive recursive depravity.
Amidst the fanfare of populism, we pat ourselves on the back for creating human constructs decoupled from a viable human theory and deploy constructs in blatant violation of nature’s first-principles. Manufactured measurements of self-anointed human efficacy have no bearing on our evolutionary excellence. In the words of environmentalist Edward Abbey, growth for the sake of growth is the ideology of a cancer cell, causing the anthropogenic cascade of humanity.
Human intelligence is currently used to fool, celebrate, and numb ourselves riding a merry-go-round at a circus of evolutionary ignorance and depravity.
Our broken ideologies, systems, rules, and outcomes are the compounding results of a human theory left undefined. The simple solution to fix humanity is to first establish a theory before deploying systems that embed the theory as their modus operandi. Using the realization that theory must be correlated to our best comprehension of nature’s truth, a truth in stark contrast with what human popularity portrays to be the truth.
To fundamentally and substantially reduce human reason’s recursive depravity, we must define and maintain an infinitely expanding proxy of evolutionary truth to recalibrate human systems to nature’s truth constantly. Using the wisdom of Einstein’s theory of relativity and Feynman’s understanding of entropy, a new method consisting of first-principles, theory, systems, and rules, in that order, must be established to make human intelligence work to our collective advantage.
We can reinvent the world we created for ourselves when we are willing to acknowledge what every intelligent person does; how little we know. How little we know as minimalistic as the nine lines of code I wrote, our newfound methodology, efficacy, capacity, and thriving future solely dependent on the accuracy of our comprehension of nature’s thesis.
