Anywhere I see the word “sustainability” pop up I cringe. I cringe because nature’s entropy causes the decline of available energy on our planet, not the increase as suggested by the growth inferred by sustainability. And then I see a stampede of innocent yet uninformed people follow the cult sustainability has become.
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals will continue to fail because the program attaches to the supposition of a first-principle that does not exist anywhere in nature. To my surprise, even John Kerry recently, cut off for lack of time, alluded to the false positive of climate change efforts nobody in the camp of false-positivity wants to hear about.
Financial programs like ESG equally hinging on sustainability will fail too as they continue to make promises nature’s law consistently invalidates and ignores. A lucent SEC commissioner pricked the bubble of ESG programs by spelling out in great detail how the inference from consequence does not infer the proper establishment of cause.
For humanity to live as long as humanly possible, we must begin to understand and adhere to the principles of nature. We must stop selling the make-believe of what we want and instead adhere to nature’s reality spelling out what we need. We must come to terms with the fact that the universe revolves around the strength of renewal, requiring adherence to fundamentally different first-principles than sustainability suggests.
Humanity must stop writing its own fairy tales, and get real. We do not have time for another misstep.
