Would A Data Scientist Make A Good Venture Capitalist?

No, a terrible one.

For the practice of being a great venture capitalist is to be able to monetize the upside from an alignment of foresight with an outlier entrepreneur, who invented something groundbreaking because of the dissent to the existing normalizations of a foregone truth (from which data is a poor and fleeting consequence).

So, the regurgitation of data derived from hindsight is a bad prognosticator to foresight that breaks the norm. Hence, data (and yes AI or ML derived from data) leads to the depravity of reason stemming from a confounding of consequence and cause (Nietzsche).

The sign of an intelligent nation is its willingness and ability to reinvent itself, upstream. Let’s inspire the world with new rigors of excellence we first and successfully apply to ourselves.
