Why Am I Not Comfortable Expressing To Others That I Am Smarter Than They Are?

The intelligence of a common fly makes it outlive the human species by a long shot. So who is counting on intelligence?

Intelligence is a composite identified by humans, and consisting of many vectors. Meaning we recognize many traits that make up intelligence, and there are arguably many human traits we should but have not contributed to the manmade definition of intelligence. So, while you may score high on a monolithic vector of measurement you prefer to measure yourself by, the task at hand may require a unique composition of intelligence your other vectors do not perform so well on.

And so, indeed, to you being rightfully uncomfortable, a measure of absolutism should never be used to describe our innate relativity. So I suggest you stay humble because there are always things you can learn or unlearn from other people to make you realize you are at best a mere proxy to a genius, ready to demonstrate the proof of your intelligence is in the pudding.

I must remind you, the value of intelligence is evolutionary highly debatable, as a common fly with a minuscule brain will outlive humanity by a long-shot. Intelligence is not the magic potion to the longevity of a species, adaptability to our expanding universe is.

So, I suggest you become incredibly humble about how humans must collaborate to improve our collective evolutionary excellence. And your blind faith in intelligence may be a good compliment for others with the remarkable adaptability of a common fly.

The sign of an intelligent nation is its willingness and ability to reinvent itself, upstream. Let’s inspire the world with new rigors of excellence we first and successfully apply to ourselves.
