I do not think you need a database for the handful of VCs who produce consistent monolithic venture-style returns to their Limited Partners from innovation the world still cares about unless you care to wallow in the subpriming of innovation arbitrage that is.
But you hit on a serious point, the notion that VCs are allowed to operate in a marketplace without verifiable merit and transparency, a sign we have built manmade systems in denial of the very rudimentary principles of freedom.
Human excellence this is not.
Instead, I suggest you study which investors appear to understand the risk profile you are chasing, for which no database currently available serves a useful purpose.
