Is It Possible China’s Whole Growth Narrative Is Fake?

Totally, not unlike the US narrative can be. Not necessarily because it means harm or to boast, but most likely because economic metrics are, at best, artificial and not all-encompassing consequences of the cause of human capacity.

Numbers, by definition, are a consequence, not to be confounded with the cause. And with statistics from those numbers, you can prove anything you are predisposed to, as the saying goes.

Is the score of a game of soccer indicative of gameplay? Of course not. Can another game with the same score suggest identical gameplay? Of course not.

Hence, economic metrics are consequences that cannot be reverted to cause, thus numbers that cannot be counted. So. Don’t.
