Only the paradox of freedom can truly set freedom free.
Not a hypothetical at all. All we need to do is deploy paradoxical rules and principles to our manmade systems in support of a plurality of freedom. For our current implementation of freedom is a dead-end street of oligarchic absolutism, quite the opposite of free. And systems that are not free do not produce renewable meritocracies.
Freedom can not exist without endorsing a plurality of freedom, and without the implementation of rules and principles establishing its paradox. In the same way, even a purportedly “free” country cannot exist without the paradoxical rule-of-law enforced by the courts and police.
We have implemented some dumb manmade systems (copied around the world) that induce precisely the cronyism the lack of foundational principles allow to flourish. For in the words of Einstein, the quality of the system determines what can (and will) be discovered.
