Laissez-faire must be preceded by the principles and rules of systems, the paradox of freedom, designed to promulgate freedom for all. Freedom must be freed from its oligarchic stronghold to spawn dynamic meritocracies. Meritocracies that allow marketplaces to over-time continuously regulate and renew themselves.
This is not at all how our marketplaces work today. Since a laissez-faire implementation of a marketplace without pre-established principles and rules is like a game of soccer without rules and no referee present. The game of soccer getting out of hand quickly and not becoming the expected game played.
So, to your question and conversely, laissez-faire implemented without pre-established rules of the road is evolutionary suicide.
