That depends very much on your definition of macro, especially since manmade actions referred to as macro put on our evolutionary timescale are merely micro. And micro aught to be a consequence of macro at its cause. So, a confounding of macro and micro is indeed another confounding of consequence and cause, yielding in the words of Nietzsche grave depravity of reason.
I say that because the metrics derived from our economic religions are similarly micro in light of evolutionary meaning and relevance. A change in tax rate can hardly be considered macro in evolutionary relevance to mankind unless you are ignorant of our longevity as a species vis-a-vis the survival of our planet.
Your interpretation of macro reveals your understanding of the relevance and excellence of our manmade systems to our evolutionary goalposts and objectives, and the realization that if a business does not support the strengthening of human evolution, it is in actuality subtracting from it, regardless of how wealthy it makes you.
Remember this: a business that does not strengthen the renewal of humanity is instead a bank robber of it. And I can name quite a few of the latter, promulgated precisely by the manmade systems that are supposed to protect our collective interests.
We must reinvent our operating-systems for humanity to yield relevance to the way, and the reason why we build businesses, and what they contribute to our evolutionary goalposts.
