For systems of humanity to become renewable and therefore sustainable the stimulus of the plethora of individual freedoms (to each his own) must be paired with the protection of collective human interest and evolutionary values for which a system was created.
As such, governments are the institutions we conjured up to deploy the governance needed to maintain our collective interests, designed to protect our systems from erosion by the inevitable and attempted vile-maxim by a few bad apples who partake in any system.
This all works as advertised until you realize how many governments themselves violate the most fundamental principles of renewable value, including a blatant denial of a meritocracy, and thus deploy governance erosive to the very systems it is supposed to maintain. Probably the impetus for the question posed.
Hence, we must reinvent all operating-systems for humanity, not excluding our government systems, to adhere to new and modern evolutionary principles that hold our governments to the same standards we aim to apply to our marketplace systems.
