Should Wives Submit To Their Husbands?

Slightly off-topic, but let’s have some fun with this tantalizing question. Let me answer this with a joke (not of my own making), which in my view strikes the perfect balance of the innate differences between men and women that must be accepted by either:

Two 80-year old long-lost male friends are finally reunited and sitting on a bench in New York Central Park reminiscing about life. One married to the same woman for sixty years, the other one having had many relationships but never married.

The never-married guy wonders what he did wrong and asks how on earth the other guy accomplished such a monogamous feat. The married-guy answers: it’s straightforward, I make all the big decisions, and my wife makes all the small decisions.

Frowning, the never-married guy barks back to call him a filthy chauvinistic pig. Not so, recants the married-guy; in all my sixty years with her, there have never been any big decisions.

By all means, marry; if you get a good wife, you’ll become happy; if you get a bad one, you’ll become a philosopher. — Socrates

The sign of an intelligent nation is its willingness and ability to reinvent itself, upstream. Let’s inspire the world with new rigors of excellence we first and successfully apply to ourselves.
