Well, as the theory of economics commits the crime of confounding consequence with cause, yielding populous depravity of reason, the depraved will find beliefs stemming from such depravity – you refer to as objective – rather enticing.
Point is that economics is not at all about growth formulated by numbers, but about evolutionary renewability that strengthens the evolution of mankind. Hence financial growth alone is merely a rebel without a cause. Revel in it if you must.
