That is like asking “when is freedom a bad thing?”. Cannot imagine, for human evolution is predicated on the real freedom to find and breed the outliers responsible for our reinvention.
We do not deploy real freedom today because for many of us freedom is a scary endeavor. Real freedom is a relativity theory, to each his own. And that means we can no longer control others with the boxed absolutism of freedom we deploy today.
We don’t have free-markets today because the freedom we deploy is oligarchically controlled. Our most famous constructs of so-called freedom (democracy, financial systems, stock markets, etc.) the world has copied from us are in reality not free at all.
So, since we have no free-markets today, any answer that supports the supposition of free-markets leads to the grave depravity of human reason.
