The alternative to capitalism that is based on our flawed absolutism of freedom is capitalism based on a relativity theory of freedom, by which we free the definition of freedom itself.
Capitalism doesn’t work today because it uses the wrong guiding principles as its “rules of the road,” which leads to oligarchic control rather than the freedom required to evolve. Wealth creation cannot be the best outcome of capitalism when that wealth is detached from renewable value to evolution.
For example, the tobacco industry created a lot of wealth. Respiratory disease stemming from smoking is now – 30 years later – the 3rd leading cause of death of Americans, with skyrocketing medical insurance premiums, much paid for by the next generation, attempting to correct our demise — plenty of other examples around.
The gist is we trade the short-term interest in wealth for the longevity and quality of our evolution. A form of capitalism that will kill us if we do not correct its foundational principles, higher-order foundational principles derived from nature I describe in The State of Humanity.
