Venture capital is often portrayed as the Superman of innovation. But playing with the arbitrage of innovation is serious business, like being a referee in soccer can be serious business.
A referee not defining the quality of gameplay, but ensuring the game does not run willfully out of hand. And, it would help if the game the referee is blowing the proverbial whistle on, is the game its audience expects to see from the bleachers. As in current value of innovation falling miserable short of producing renewable socioeconomic value to strengthen humanity.
So, temper your enthusiasm for just about any venture capitalist until you are confident he/she has proven not to mess up the evolutionary responsibility of innovation we all must share.
